COLLINSVILLE CROSSING
Clayton,
Mo.-based Koman Properties, one of the Midwest’s premier real estate
developers, has delivered yet another quality retail development in
Southwestern Illinois. The new 450,000 sq. ft. $78 million master
development sits on 53.7 acres located on the southwest corner of
Interstate 55/70 and State Highway 157, a location that over 70,000
vehicles pass by daily. Collinsville Crossing is providing more than 500
retail and service jobs in the Collinsville area and is already well on
its way to becoming a hot new regional retail destination that offers
the city the ability to compete with other established and growing
retail markets in surrounding areas.
CASINO QUEEN
This past August, East St. Louis’ Casino
Queen debuted a new $92 million, 207,500 sq. ft. gaming facility at
their existing location at 200 South Front Street. At the height of the
project, there were up to 450 different tradesmen on site, working
almost 24 hours a day, but the impact of this project goes far beyond
the construction jobs. The new facility helps to ensure the long-term
future of the Casino Queen in the East St. Louis community, securing an
employer that provides more than 1,100 jobs in our region and
contributes $150 million in annual taxes to the City. Also important to
note is that the new building represents Phase I of a three-phase, $150
million dollar investment that is planned for the site.

MIDCOAST AVIATION

1971, Midcoast Aviation provides maintenance and modification services
for top-tier business jets. Headquartered at St. Louis Downtown Airport

the past 15 years, Midcoast has become the 14th largest
employer in Southwestern Illinois. In 2007 alone, Midcoast opened
a new 119,000-sq-ft, $11-million hangar and added 100 employees.
Additionally, the organization broke ground on a 145,000-sq-ft,
$17.5-million hangar scheduled to be completed in mid 2008. The company
plans to hire 200 people in the next couple of years to support its
growing business.

services. Headquartered in Green Bay, Wis., Schneider National has
a 70-year track record of providing transportation and logistics
solutions and serves more than 80 percent of the Fortune 500®

The project also strengthens and invigorates the transportation and
logistics industry in Southwestern Illinois, which plays a key role in
positioning our entire region as a key Midwestern distribution hub.

SWIDA instituted the Southwestern

honor developers for their investment in Southwestern Illinois and also
to enhance Southwestern Illinois as an area that appreciates development
and will work together to help make it happen.
